Graveside services for Chester Dunham will begin at 1:30 pm Thursday in Oak Hill Cemetery at Coralville.
Chester “Swede” Dunham, 77, of 2121 10th St. Place, Coralville, died Monday at Mercy Hospital after a long illness.
There will be no visitation. The body has been cremated. A memorial fund has been established. Donohue-Lensing funeral home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Dunham was born Sept 13, 1912, in Lakeview, son of Frank and Clara Remmert Dunham. He married Genevieve Conklin June 18, 1960 in Rock Island, IL. He was a route salesman at Sidwell Dairies in Iowa City for many years. He moved to the Rock Island area and was a representative at Wyns Automotive Parts. He was a member of the American Legion Walter Johnson Post No. 721. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Gerald of Iowa City and James of Webster City; one daughter, Janet Hime of Mesa, Ariz.; one stepson, Michael Conklin of Bayonne, N.J.; one stepdaughter, Sharon Searcy of Honolulu; 14 grandchildren, two step grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A brother died earlier.
