Edith Evelyn (Ranshaw) Rittger passed away peacefully on January 1st, 2020 at Crestview Care and Rehabilitation Center, West Branch, Iowa. Interment will be held at Ridgewood Cemetary, North Liberty, Iowa. Date and time to be determined.

Evelyn was born December 12, 1933, the youngest of 6 children, to George (Lee) and Edith (Burton Wray) Ranshaw at the family farm in rural North Liberty, Iowa.

A graduate of University High School, Iowa City, Iowa, Class of 1952, Evelyn earned her Nursing Degree from St. Luke's College in Sioux City, Iowa. Life took Evie to beautiful San Diego, California where she worked as a charge nurse at Mary Birch Hospital for Women until her retirement.

Evelyn's most memorable experience: visiting Paris, France with her sister Marcella.

Survivors include her four (4) children: Dr. Kevin (Deanna) Rittger, Missouri City, Texas, Kris (Bill) Perks, West Branch, Iowa, Kerrie Powers, Aurora, Colorado, and Klete Rittger, Houston, Texas; and six (6) grandchildren: Brandon (Mollie) Rittger, Houston, Texas, Brittany Rittger, New York, New York, Austin Perks and Taylor Perks, West Branch, Iowa, Miranda Powers and Jacob Powers, Aurora, Colorado, and a brother Robert (Betty) Ranshaw, Marengo, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Madelene (Fred) Sydebotham, Iowa City, Iowa, Doris (Ray) Duttlinger, Kalona, Iowa, Marcella (Pat) Pattison, Boise, Idaho, and a brother George (Bevelyn) Ranshaw, North Liberty, Iowa.

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So he put his arms around you and whispered "Come with Me".
