Judith Anne Douglas went on to Heaven on November 24, 2019. She passed away peacefully at the Veteran’s Administration Medical Center in Iowa City.
A gathering to celebrate her life will be held Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at 6:00 to 7:30 PM at Lensing’s Oak Hill, 210 Holiday Road, Coralville.
Judy was born June 2, 1938 in Lowell, Massachusetts, to Howard and Florence (Heffler) Evans. Judy received nursing training at Tewksbury Hospital in Tewksbury, Massachusetts. She served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Judy loved being a nurse, had a heart for those who were hurting, and was always striving to be helpful and useful. She utilized her gifts of strength, resilience, kindness and compassion, and a sense of humor, to serve others well. Up until recently, Judy volunteered her time at the VA Hospital.
Judy’s constant companion and source of strength, comfort, peace, and guidance, was her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was also loved by her close friends and numerous cats and dogs. Judy would tell you that you should “follow the truth, and the truth will lead you to God.” Her passionate desire would be for you to accept Jesus’s gift of salvation and eternal life by asking Him into your heart, having a relationship with Him, trusting in Him for all your needs, serving Him, loving Him, and loving others.
