Barbara J. Pirkl, age 68 of rural Tiffin died at her home surrounded by her family on Monday, November 11, 2019.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm Saturday, November 16, 2019, at Grace United Methodist church in Tiffin, with burial to follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery near Tiffin. Visitation will be from 12 noon Saturday until the services at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in her memory to Hospice Compassus. Barbara Jean Hebl was born May 30, 1951, in Iowa City the daughter of Edward and Meredith (Berreau) Hebl. Attending Iowa City schools, she graduated from City High School with the class of 1969. On September 11, 1971, she married Keith W. Pirkl in Iowa City. The couple raised their family and farmed south of Tiffin, Barbara also worked for many years at Clear Creek Amana High School in food service. Barb enjoyed living in the country, especially since building their new home, raising her gardens, collecting Salt & Pepper Shakers and Owls, listening to Johnny Cash and the Beatles, camping in their RV and riding shotgun on their Harley Davidson in the sidecar!
Her family includes her husband Keith; their two sons, David Pirkl and Kevin Pirkl (Jama); and 2 grandsons, Riley and Cole Pirkl.
