Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 9 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Iowa City. Visitation will be from 4-7:00 pm on Friday, November 8 at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City where a rosary will be recited at 3:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed toward St. Patrick Catholic Church or the donor’s choice.

Carolyn was born on July 5, 1938 in Iowa City, daughter of Ralph and Frances (Draker) Fountain. She grew up in Hills and a graduate of Iowa City City High School. While working at Proctor & Gamble she met her future husband James Ronald Worley. On September 6 of 1958 they were married. They had two daughters, Joyce and Wendae. James died on May 28, 2009.

Being in the Air Force they moved to Fairchild AFB in Washington. During their 50 years of marriage they also lived in France, and North Dakota before returning to Iowa City. She was a stay at home mom, a girl scout leader and always helping where needed. After returning to Iowa City in 1977 Carolyn worked at Moore Business Forms, the VA Hospital, and The Mustard Seed. The Mustard Seed was close to her heart as she could help others in the Catholic faith. Carolyn was a member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She attended St. Wenceslaus, St. Patrick’s, and St. Joseph’s in Hills.

Carolyn always enjoyed family visits and traveling too many places throughout the United States and abroad. One of those special trips was in 2012 when she went on a tour to Lourdes, France and Fatima in Portugal.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Legacy for her care.

Carolyn is survived by her two daughters, Joyce (Aaron) Liesch of The Woodlands, TX, and Wendae Waite of Iowa City; grandchildren, Krista and Melissa Liesch; sister, Norma (Leonard) Murphy of Hills, IA; sister-in-law, Patricia Fountain and brother-in-law, Dean Rohret, both of Iowa City. She is also survived by numerous extended family and friends.
