Jeri Lynn Pierce, 62, of Iowa City, died on Friday, October 4, 2019 at Iowa City Rehab and Health Center surrounded by her family.

Private family services will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed toward Iowa City Hospice.

Jeri was born on May 24, 1957 in Anaconda, Montana, daughter of Robert Lee and Joan D. (Lillie) James. Jeri went to college at Anne Arundel Community College in Maryland and had a 2-year degree in Nursing. She held numerous nursing jobs throughout her life. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed reading, musicals, and collecting antiques.

Jeri’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude and thank Iowa City Hospice, which helped care for her in the last stages of her life.

Jeri is survived by her son, James; her brother Mark James and his wife Choon; 5 nieces and nephews; eleven great nieces and nephews and numerous extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Janet Grey.
