Walter O. Schonauer, 61, owner of the Solon creamery for 15 years, died Sept. 13 at Mercy hospital in Iowa City after a short illness.

He was born Dec. 14, 1890, in Illinois, and came to the Solon area from St. Paul, Minn., 18 years ago.

Mr. Schonauer married Mable Nosbish Aug. 24, 1936.

He was a member of A.F. & A.M., Shrine and the Davenport consistory.

Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Mrs. Robert Shellady, Iowa City; three grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Paul Dille, Houston, Texas, and Florence and Amelia, both of Denver, Colo., and a brother, George, of Oreland, Calif.

Funeral services were held at Solon Sept. 15, with the Rev. J. Richard Wagner, of Cedar Rapids' First Congregational church, officiating.

Burial was in Oakland cemetery, Solon.
