Saturday, September 5, 1987Mildred Blakley dies at home
Mildred F. Blakeley, 63, Calu Apartments, died Friday at her home.
She was born Feb. 20, 1924, near Iowa City, the daughter of Bohumil and Mabel Mary Horty Greazel. She lived in Iowa City and Marshalltown before moving to Fairfield 35 years ago. Blakley was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church and a member of the church council.
She married Victor Blakley Feb. 5, 1947, in Iowa City. He died March 7, 1978. She also was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Thomas of Houston, Frances Cox and Jane Leu, both of Fairfield; one son, Joe of Fairfield; seven grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Cooney of Cedar Rapids; and two brothers, Leo Greazel of Cedar Rapids and Donald Greazel of California.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. William Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
The rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Raymond Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Masses and the American Heart Association.
