Norma Swartzendruber

KALONA - Mrs. Urie (Norma) Swartzendruber, 78, of Kalona, died Sunday at Mercy Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Kalona Mennonite Church, the Revs. Carl Smeltzer and Paul T. Guengerich officiating. Burial will be in the West Union Cemetery in rural Wellman. Family visitation will be tonight. Friends may begin calling after 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona.
She was born Feb. 7, 1897, the daughter of Anains and Katie Miller Kinsinger, in Iowa County. She married Urie Swartzendruber Aug. 25, 1920, at the John Y. Swartzendruber home in Johnson County. The couple lived all their married life in rural Parnell until moving to Kalona seven years ago.
She was a member of the Kalona Mennonite Church.
Surviviors include her husband, three daughters, Mrs. Emery (Audry) Hochstetler, of Oxford, Mrs. Don (Fern) Eash, of Parnell, and Mary Lois Swartzendruber, of Kalona; a son, Dale, of West Lafayette, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Cochran, of Cedar Rapids, and two brothers, Erlis Kinsinger, of Wellman, and Orville Kinsinger, of Parnell.
Two sisters preceded her in death.
