Ann “Annie” Donohue, 79 of Iowa City, Iowa died Sunday, April 17, 2005 at Mercy Hospital.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 20, 2005 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Kenneth Kuntz officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00p.m. at Lensing Funeral Service where a parish vigil service will be conducted at 7:00p.m.. Burial will be at St. Bridget’s Cemetery at Nolan Settlement, Morse, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Annie was born in rural Johnson County on June 10, 1925 to Hugh and Mary Agnes (Fitzpatrick) Donohue. She was raised in rural Johnson County and graduated in 1943 from West Branch High School. Annie moved to Iowa City in 1943 and graduated from Business College. She was an Office Manager for many years at Alderman-Galiher Insurance and then employed at the University of Iowa until her retirement in 1992.

Annie has been a long time member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was an avid sports and Hawkeye Fan. She loved to cook and make holiday treats to share with her family and friends. She also enjoyed bowling.

She is survived by her sister, Teresa Jean Neuzil of rural Iowa City, one nephew, William Neuzil and his wife Julie, of Iowa City and by three nieces; Linda Pedersen Brown and her husband Ken of Poulsbo, Washington, Mary Neuzil Cochran and her husband Dan of Ankeny, Iowa, Janet Pedersen McDougall of Wheaton, Illinois; four great nieces; Julie Cochran Applebaum and her husband Matt, Katherine and Laura Neuzil, Jill McCarthy-Greer and her husband Scott, Emily McDougall and one great nephew Jason Cochran and his wife Holly, and also by one great great niece, Jessica Mary Applebaum.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Mary Donohue and Marjorie J. Pedersen, and two brother-in-laws, Gerald Neuzil and Delbert Pedersen and by one nephew, Michael Pedersen.
