Kathleen “Kate” McCulloh, 68, North Liberty Iowa, died peacefully, Friday morning, May 31, 2019 in her home.
Mrs. McCulloh was born Kathleen Ann Mangan, April 3, 1951. She was the daughter of Mary M. and Thomas G. Mangan. Kathleen was united in marriage to Reed G. McCulloh on May 22, 1982 at St Joseph’s Catholic Church. The couple made their home in rural North Liberty.
Kate attended St Joseph’s School in DeWitt through eleventh grade and then graduated from Central Clinton at DeWitt in 1969. She promptly completed a nursing degree at Black Hawk College in Moline Illinois. Later in life she would return to college at Kirkwood Community College where two associate’s degrees were conferred, one in art and one in science.
Kathleen was a member of St. Mary of the Visitation, Iowa City, throughout her marriage to Reed. She and Reed belonged to an ever-welcoming 7:30 mass and coffee group at St. Mary. Her legacy may be as a groomer. She was private, modest, and most of all, unselfish. She lived a life delighted by details.Preceding in death are her parents, Thomas and Mary Mangan, a brother-in-law, Randy Hudson.
She is survived by her faithful husband Reed,
Son Thomas, and Wife, Kelly McCulloh of Dubuque, and her two granddaughters, Cecilia and Greta. Siblings, Tom (Linda), Kenyon, Minnesota, Mary (Terry) Wylie, Princeton, Iowa, Steve (Mary), DeWitt, Bernadette Hudson, Robins, Iowa, David (Kathy), DeWitt, and Teresa (Kevin) Glesener, Knoxville, Iowa; special friends mourning her loss include Jan Mangan, Larry Smith, Patricia Fisher and Thomas Baldridge.
