Renae D. Meyer, 56, of Coralville died at her home on Thursday, May 30, 2019.

A Celebration of Renae’s life will be held at the First United Methodist Church of North Liberty at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 8, 2019. Burial will be at a later date at Rose Hill Cemetery in Greene, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed toward the First United Methodist Church North Liberty in care of the Free Community Meal Program.

Renae was born December 1, 1962 in Charles City, the youngest child of Harold and Joan (Crooks) Meyer. Renae was raised on the family farm where she enjoyed many farm activities including raising lambs.

Renae graduated from Greene Community High School in 1981, where she played the flute in marching and concert band. In August of 1985, she received her bachelor’s degree in interior design from the University of Northern Iowa.

Renae moved to the Iowa City area where she held many jobs until accepting her position as an Architectural Assistant in the Facilities Services Department at the UIHC in July 1990.

Renae enjoyed genealogy, especially tracing her roots back to her great-great grandparents on both sides of the family. She enjoyed time spent with family and friends playing games and traveling around the Midwest. Renae rarely missed the monthly outings with her “YIP” friends and co-workers. She especially enjoyed a trip to Ireland, Germany and Switzerland with her dear friend Dee.

She attended First United Methodist Church of North Liberty where she participated in the monthly free community meal sponsored by the church at the North Liberty Living Community Center.

Her hobbies included reading mysteries and cross stitching. Renae enjoyed watching ISU, UNI and Iowa games and was an avid Chicago Blackhawks hockey fan.

Renae is survived by her parents, Harold and Twilla (Pederson) Meyer of Tiffin; her siblings, Debra Meyer of Indianapolis, David (Cathy) Meyer of Flower Mound, TX and Jolyn (Al) Morgan of North Liberty; her step-siblings, Christine Hansen, Steven Klindt, Kevin (Kristal) Klindt and Michelle (Shawn) Selch; her nieces and nephews, Erik Nelson, Jessica Meyer, Yaxuan Meyer and Andrea Morgan. She is also survived by numerous extended family and friends.

Renae was preceded in death by her mother, Joan Meyer in 2014.
