Marie Vivian (Rourke) Greazel, 87, of 732 S. Market St Apt. 5, died Thursday April 14, 2005 at Mercy Hospital following a short illness.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Rev. Michael T. Phillips officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Newport Township. Friends and family may call on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lensing’s Oakhill 210 Holiday Road, Coralville. A rosary will be recited at 7:00p.m. and a Parish Vigil Service will follow. Memorials may be made to the Solon First Responders or the American Heart Association.

Marie was born June 3, 1917 in Oxford Township, the daughter of Martin E. and Amelia T. (Dolmage) Rourke. She married Richard J. Greazel on June 2, 1943 at St. Wencesalaus Catholic Church. Richard died on November 15, 1992.

In Marie’s earlier years she taught in country schools in the surrounding area and later worked in central sterilizing at Mercy Hospital. Richard passed away on November 15, 1992. She was a member of the National Catholic Society of Foresters.

Marie loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and enjoyed reading.

Marie is survived by two sons; Pat of Iowa City and Don of Coralville, three daughters; Rita Roberts (Dave) of North Liberty, Mary Jane Sweeney of North Liberty and Marissa Zimmerman (Jamie) of Solon; six grandchildren: Sherry Sweeney, Brandy (Ty) Doermann, Krystal Sweeney, Chad Roberts, Phil (Beth Blass) Greazel and Erin Zimmerman.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three brothers, Ralph, Clem and Pat.
