Wesley A. Svatos, 60, of Solon, died Saturday in University hospital at Iowa City after a long illness.

Mr. Svatos was born Sept. 19, 1896, in the Newport community, the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Svatos. He never married.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. George Moravek, of Tipton, and a brother, Joseph Svatos of the Newport community.

Services were held Tuesday in St. Mary's church of Solon with the Rev. Carl F. Clems officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery at Newport.
