Mrs. F. Mezik Passes AWAY

PASSES AWAY DEATH RELIEVES SUFFERINGS OF POLICE CHIEF'S WIFE AFTER MONTHS OF ILLNESS.

Death came at 12:20 today to the wife of Frank Mezik. chief of Police of Iowa City after months of illness the last few weeks of which was spent in the University Hospital

Mrs. Mezik for months had been a sufferer from dropsy and has been almost helpless for many weeks. About six weeks ago in order that she might have better cared for she was taken to the university hospital, where Mr. Mezik has spent many hours each day by her side in the vain hope of her ultimate recovery.

Deceased leaves her husband and one daughter, Barbara, a teacher in the schools at Sigourney, and one son Frank. Jr, now at Camp Dodge in the service of the country.

Mrs. Mezik came to Iowa City many years ago and has spent most of her life here. She was a woman who made many friends and her last hours have been made lighter by the kindly attentions of those who have known and loved her
