Elizabeth Spenner Dies in Wellman

KALONA - Mrs. Elizabeth Spenner, 95, died this morning, June 29, in a Wellman nursing home where she had lived the past five years. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Peterseim Funeral Chapel in Kalona. Burial will be in the Sharon Hill Cemetery.
Elizabeth Ratzlaff was born in Johnson County, March 29, 1875, the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth Smith Ratzlaff. She married John A. Spenner in November 1893, in Johnson County. She was a lifetime resident of the Kalona area.
Mrs. Spenner is survived by sons William and Albert of Riverside and Frank of Laramie, Wyo.; nine grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; a brother, Albert Ratzlaff of Iowa City; and a sister, Clara Heinrich of Pilot Grove, Mo. She was preceded by her husband and two sisters.
