Later:—-Mr. Danner died Tuesday morning and his funeral was held yesterday. Attorney E. W Cutting tells us he knew the dead man quite well, having occupied a room at Rev. Danner’s home while he attended the University at Iowa City, meeting the younger Danner frequently. The autopsy held by the coroner after death revealed the fact that the bullet which killed Danner lodged in the spinal cord, having penetrated the second dorsal vertebrae, and en route had cut its way through the windpipe and aesophagus.

That is the Sentence Passed on “Piggy" Jones for the Murder of Ernest Danner.
Will Jones, or “Piggy” Jones as he was most familiarly known when he was buying stock in Decorah, was given a life sentence to the penitentiary in District Court at Town City Tuesday The details of his attack upon Mrs. Jones at the home of Ernest Danner near Iowa City, early in the summer, and his murder of Mr. Danner when he came to the woman’s assistance, are still fresh in the minds of the people. At first Jones resolutely denied any remembrance of his crime, claiming he must have been insane, but when he came into court he plead guilty, and his sentence was fixed as above.
