Funeral Services For Amos Grout Held Last Sunday

Funeral services for Amos U. Grout, retired farmer, were held at the East uNion Mennonite Church on Sunday, October 31, 1965. The 2 p.m. service was conducted by A. Lloyd Swartzendruber and J. John J. Miller. Interment was made in the East union cemetery with the Peterseim Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Grout died at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, at the age of 90 years, 7 months, 24 days, following a two week illness. He was born March 4, 1875 in Johnson county, the son of Loren E. and Katherine Sleichter grout. On March 4, 1915, he was married to Marge Schrock.
He is survived by his widow, five sons; Virgil and Herbert, Kalona; Guy and Clifford, Riverside; Alva of Newton; four grandchildren; two brothers, Harry Grout of Kalona and Lute Grout, Riverside, and one sister, Mrs. Emma Madden, Hills.
