Matthew C. “Matt” Brack, 54, of West Branch, died Sunday, November 11, 2018, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

A gathering for family and friends celebrating Matt’s life will be held from 4 to 7 pm Thursday, November 15, 2018, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Matthew would want you to come comfortable and in Iowa Hawkeye attire please. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in his memory. Matt was born September 14, 1964, in Iowa City the son of LaVerne “Blackie” Brack and Phyllis (Ford) Brack. Growing up in Iowa City he attended schools here graduating from City High School with the Class of 1983. He married Kristine K. Koser on November 7, 1992, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Iowa City. He has always lived and worked in this area, enjoyed the Iowa Hawkeyes and his dogs.

His family includes his wife, Kristine; mother, Phyllis Brack; sister and her husband, Melissa and Kevin Torner; niece, Katie McVay; great-nephew, Karter; mother-in-law, Linda Koser; brother-in-law and his wife, Ed and Alta Koser; nieces and nephews, Tyler, Aaron, Jacob, Tilda, Clarence, Draven, Eddie, Esther, and Lola; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, LaVerne; father-in-law, Roy Koser; and many aunts and uncles.
