Christopher Michael Echols, 36, of North Liberty, Iowa, took his own life on November 4, 2018.
Chris was born on June 15, 1982 to James Echols and Deborah (Dittmer) Dies. He was born and raised in Canal Fulton, Ohio.
Chris moved to Iowa shortly after college where he established lifelong friendships and a successful career. Chris leaves behind his beloved son, Preston Echols, as well as his wife, Mindy (Kimm-Pedersen) Echols and his step-children, Annabelle and Reeve Pedersen. He is survived by his father, James (Elaine) Echols, his mother, Deborah (Robert) Dies, his brother and confidant, Bryan (Jennifer) Echols, siblings, Josh (Jessica) Gerber, Kelly (Aaron) Kawczk, Nick (Kaitlyn) Gerber, his grandmother, Helen Dittmer, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Chris was preceded in death by his sister, Tricia Echols, grandfather, Clarence Dittmer, grandparents, Thomas and Margaret “Sue” Echols, and Uncle Thomas “Rock” Echols.
Chris was talented in so many ways. He was a self-taught handy man and was always happy to share that skill set to help others and his church. He loved his two Mastadors dogs (Malcolm and Maverick), snowmobiling, home improvement projects, and being outdoors. He was a kid at heart and loved spending time with his children most of all.
A gathering will take place on Friday, November 9th at 1:00 pm at Veritas Church in Tiffin, Iowa.
Family and friends are also welcome to come to Chris’s parent’s home in New Franklin, Ohio on Sunday, November 11th to share memories. Chris will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
