Larrie D. LaFoy, 82 of Iowa City and Oak Lawn, IL died Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City.

Funeral services will be held at 11am Friday, October 19, 2018, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City where there will be a time of visitation from 9am until services on Friday. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 pm Friday at the Confidence Cemetery near Centerville, Iowa. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.

Larrie was born November 1, 1935, grew up in Storm Lake, Iowa where he graduated from high school in 1954. He went on to earn a degree in Education from Macalester College in Minnesota, then his Master’s degree in marketing from University of Northern Iowa. He has spent most of his adult life as an educator and coach in and around Oak Lawn, IL. Larrie enjoyed much in his lifetime, riding bicycle, horse racing, the New York Yankees, the Iowa Hawkeyes, but most near and dear to him was his family and spending time together on many family vacations throughout the years!

His family includes his wife, Linda Ann (Morlan) LaFoy whom he married over 55 years ago; their children, Jeff LaFoy (Amy), Jeni LaFoy (Bruce Albright) and Jill Maas (David); grandchildren Jennifer, Jake, J.J. and Connor.

Larrie’s family would like to thank everyone at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, especially Doctors Kimberly Staffey and Sara Hogan for the excellent and compassionate care provided to Larrie, but also towards his family throughout his hospitalization.
