Harry Andrew Ehmsen Jr, 80, of Coralville died peacefully Friday, October 5th at The Bird House-Hospice Home.
A Gathering to celebrate Harry’s life will be held Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Flannigan’s, 501 1st Avenue, Coralville.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Harry Ehmsen Memorial Fund c/o Hills Bank and Trust.
Harry was born May 17, 1938 in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Harry Andrew and Maysie Sherman Ehmsen. On January 9, 1970 Harry married Patti Loveless in Woodstock, IL.
Harry was a longtime employ of Iowa Book and Supply Commercial Sales. Following his retirement, Harry drove for Durham Bus Company.
He was a member of the Lions Club, the Coralville Optimist Club, served on the Coralville City Council and had served as Chairman of the Johnson County American Cancer fundraising drive.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the caregivers with Iowa City Hospice and The Bird House.
Survivors include his loving wife, Patti; his daughter, Penny (Richard) Sullivan of Moline, IL and his son, Harry (Heidi) Ehmsen of Solon; five grandchildren, Haleigh, Keighley, Matt, Harry IV, and Kinsley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Paul and grandson, Chris.
