Bonnie J. Clark, 93, of Iowa City, died Monday, August 6, 2018 at Briarwood Healthcare Center.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 18th from 9:30 to 10:30 am at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm that afternoon at the Corydon Cemetery in Corydon, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or Iowa City Hospice.Born November 15, 1924 in Humeston, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Mollie (Stripe) Woollis, Bonnie grew up in Humeston and later graduated from Corydon High School in 1942.
She was united in marriage to Jacob Clark on September 8, 1946 in Corydon, Iowa, where she was the secretary for the local Home Bureau office for many years.
Moving to Iowa City in 1955, Bonnie worked for 28 years for Osco Drug in Iowa City, beginning at the downtown Osco Drug on College Street and later moving out to the Towncrest area store. She retired in 1988.
Bonnie was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Iowa City and gave of her time as a volunteer at the Senior Center in Iowa City. She enjoyed having friends come in to play cards and Rummikub but most important to Bonnie was her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will especially be missed at Hawkeye Women’s Basketball games this fall, she was a season ticketholder for many years.
Bonnie is survived by her children, Fred Clark (Jeanne) of Iowa City and Cindy Clark Kuntz (Alan) of Mt. Vernon, Iowa; grandchildren, Megan Hach (Kyle) and Jacob Hennager (Christina): great-grandchildren, Carter Hach, Easton Hach and Kelsey Hach;
step-children, Tiffany (Raymond) McGregor and Tonya Guthmiller;
step great-grandchildren, Shian Morrison, Brenden Guthmiller, Mya Ousley and Connor and Avery McGregor.She is also survived by extended family, George and Barb Clark & family, Shirley and Larry Rice & family and Gary and Pam Wishmeyer & family.
Bonnie’s parents, her husband Jacob, a brother Millard “Buster” and two sisters, Velma Wishmeyer and Audrey Roe, preceded her in death.
