Bruce Steffens, 66, of North Liberty, passed away on July 25th at Lantern Park Specialty Care in Coralville.

A Memorial Service will be Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 5:00pm at St. Silas Lutheran Church (1295 Jordan St. #5) in North Liberty with Reverend Andrew Richard officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed toward the Steffens family in care of Melvin Steffens.

Bruce was born on December 31st, 1951 in Lowden, Iowa, son of Melvin and Jenny (Wooder) Steffens. He drove a big-rig semi for many years. Bruce loved spending time with his family and friends. Countless hours were spent playing cards and cribbage. He also enjoyed watching westerns, especially those featuring John Wayne. He was also an avid wrestling and race car fan.

Bruce is survived by his children, Melvin Steffens (Heidi) of North Liberty and Jennifer Steffens (Ryan Megeff) of Iowa City and Michael Stepanek of Iowa City; his grandchildren: Jake, Jordan and Jason, his siblings: Nancy Kroemer and Joe Steffens. Bruce is also survived by several nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Jenny (Wooder) Steffens.
