Mrs. Josephine Yavorsky, 84 years old, for 65 years a resident of Johnson county died at 4 o'clock Saturday morning at her home 1006 North Summit street, following a few weeks illness with complications arising from old age.

Mrs. Yavorsky was born in Czecho-Slovakia and lived there until 65 years ago when she came to the United States, moving immediately to Johnson county. Following the Civil War, she was married to Frank Yavorksy, who died here two years ago.

She is survived by eight children. They are: Mrs. John Kolarik of Iowa City, Mrs. Frank Dodry of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Q. Sadler of Amarillo, Tex, Charles and Frank of West Branch, and Mrs. Roy Karns of Iowa City, Mrs. E. H. Miller of Iowa City and Anna at home.

One brother, Frank Loventinsky of 720 East Market street also survives. -- Iowa City Press Citizen
