Raymond Zenisek, 80
Raymond A. Zenisek, 80, of North Liberty, formerly of Solon, died Saturday, Dec. 20, 1997, at Mercy Hospital after a short illness.
Services will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Solon, with the Rev. Joseph Sparks officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Brosh Funeral Home in Solon, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. A memorial fund has been established.
Mr. Zenisek was born March 15, 1917, in Solon to Joseph and Agnes (Cole) Zenisek. He married Emily Schulte on May 7, 1946, in Norway. She died in 1987. He farmed for many years before his retirement. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was a former member of the board of directors of the REC.
Survivors include three daughters and their husbands, Nancy and Daniel Grady of Colorado Springs, Colo., Janice and Dean Jeter of Iowa City and Rita and Rodney Kunkel of Lakeville, Minn.; four sons, Joe Zenisek and his wife, Susan, of Wichita, Kan., Jim Zenisek and his wife, Deb, Andy Zenisek and his wife, Jan, and Bruce Zenisek, all of Solon; two sisters, Florence Hoke and her husband, Richard, of Mt. Vernon and Eleanor Seacrest of West Branch; one brother, Clarence "Slug" Zenisek of Solon; 19 grandchildren; and a special friend, Barb Hain of North Liberty.
One sister and one brother died earlier.
