Gail Lynn Malin, 61, died at home Thursday, June 28th following a heart attack.
The family will greet friends at a visitation Tuesday July 3rd from 4 to 7 PM at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Gail’s name.
Gail was born on July 7, 1956 in Oskaloosa, the daughter of Delbert and Clara Price Malin. Gail was a graduate of Oskaloosa High School and a 1989 William Penn College. Gail was a longtime clerk in the department of surgery at UIHC.
Gail was a talented quilter and a “fabric hoarder”. She was a voracious reader and loved to give and receive hugs. Gail love time spent with her family and her two pugs, Winston Cooper and Gracie Mae.
Gail is survived by significant other, Edward Meggers and her three children, Jon Morrow, Ann Morrow and Kristen Smelser, all of Cedar Rapids; grandsons, Jared and Jacob Morrow; and her great granddaughter, Iris; her siblings, Linda Sue McNaughton of Indianola, Wauneta (Glen) Gerard of Oskaloosa, Darrell (Sachico) Malin of Flagstaff, AZ and Leslie (Lorrena) Malin of Pella; brother and sister-in-laws, Wanda Malin and John Gleason.
Gail was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, Larry and Janice.
