Lester V. Lemar, 77, of Columbus City, Iowa died on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at home. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held on July 28, 2018 beginning at 12 PM at the Columbus City Masonic Lodge. A private inurnment will be held at a later date.

Lester was born on June 20, 1940, the son of Clarice Vern Lemar and Goldie Faye Lynch, in Harrison County Missouri. He was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Dorla Deane Eisenbarger on February 19, 1961. They were blessed with three girls.

Lester was a faithful employee of the Rock Island Railroad. In later years he was thrilled to be the daycare provider for his two grandsons and his great grandson.

Lester enjoyed drawing, wood working, mushroom hunting, fishing and most of all spending time with his family.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 57 years, his daughters Cindy Burroughs (Mike), Lezlie Lemar (Troy) and Tonya Lemar-Whitehair(David); his grandchildren M. John Lemar Burroughs, Jeffrey Scott Burroughs (Emily), Ebbe Renee Lemar Whitehair and great grandson Tyler Leon Lemar Burroughs (and mother Cheyenne); niece and nephews Bryant Nelson, Jeana Sigrist, Kenneth Nelson and Lanny Nelson, many friends and extended family

Lester was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, a grandchild, a grand daughter-in-law, a sister-in-law and brother-in-law.
