Danielle was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harold and Patricia Henkelman.

Danielle was born Sept 3, 1976 in Iowa City, Iowa. She graduated from West High School in 1994. She was born raised in Iowa and she was very proud of that.

She had incredible work ethic, character, conviction, kindness and compassion that showed in everything she set her mind to. Her sense of humor and her amazingly infectious smile were unsurpassed. Many people are lucky to have one best friend in life. Danielle was blessed to have so many everywhere she went. She loved her family & friends one and all, and she would do anything for them. She will be missed.

She moved to Scottsdale Arizona in 1997 with her three best friends to begin her amazing adult life. Arizona is where Danielle spread her beautiful wings. She grew to become a successful businesswoman, a health nut, a physique body builder and most importantly, a die-hard animal crusader. It was in Arizona that she found her passion of rescuing, fostering and fighting for animal rights. Danielle played a major role in and was responsible for many Arizona animal rights, legislations and protection laws.
Danielle was admired, adored, and respected by all who came into her life.
Dani was one of a kind and she will be incredibly missed by everyone who knew her.
Dani’s constant struggle was that she couldn’t save them all.
“Helping our little friends who can’t help themselves” was Danielle’s passion.

“Sometimes it makes me sad though, Dani being gone.
I have to remind myself that some birds aren’t meant to be caged for their feathers are just too bright, their songs too sweet and wild.
So you let them go.
And when they fly away, when they fly past you, the part of you that knows it was a sin to imprison them in the first place, does rejoice,
but still, in the place where you live, is that much more drab and empty now that she is gone.
I guess I just miss my friend.”
