Linda L. Cole, 66, of Iowa City, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at her home. A funeral service will be held at 10 AM, Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City. A visitation will be held from 5-7 PM, Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or The American Heart Association.

Linda was born on November 18, 1951 in Iowa City, IA, the daughter of Leslie and Ethel (Hogan) Cole Sr. She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in Nauvoo, IL. Linda was a secretary for Mercy Hospitals food service department for over 40 years, retiring in 2016. She enjoyed making homemade gifts for her friends and family over the years, especially ceramic Christmas decorations. Linda loved arts and crafts, ceramics were her specialty.

Linda is survived by her seven siblings, Carolyn Cole of Iowa City, IA, Karen McMath (Joe) of West Branch, IA, Laura Cole of Solon, IA, Leslie Cole Jr. of Solon, IA, Lyle Cole of Iowa City, IA, Lu Ann Cole of New Jersey, and Leland Cole of Iowa City, IA; eight nieces and nephews, Mindy McMath, Jay (Stacy) McMath, John (Caroline) Cole, Ben Cole, Keith Cole, Kevin (Kristi) Cole, Chris Cole, and Cathy Cole; and many extended family.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, and niece, Natalie Cole.
