Chansy Vongsavanh, 85, of Iowa City passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Lantern Park Specialty Care.

A traditional Buddhist Ceremony will begin at 12:00 pm Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service, Iowa City.

Chansy was born in Laos on January 1st, 1933. She moved to Iowa City in 1981.

Chansy is survived by children, Aromsavath Phonphiboun of Newark, CA, Christina Norasinh of Ashburn, VA, Phaysavath Phonphiboun of Naples, FL, Somsaveng Dinhvanh of Mannheim, Germany, Phaysavanh Phonphiboun of Newark, CA, Somsavath Bounnakhom of Saint Michael, MN, Tina Phonphiboun of Newark, CA, Soutsavanh Bitda of Hermitage, TN, Phonesanith Phonphiboun of Naples, FL and Phonesavanh Phonphiboun of Iowa City, IA; three siblings and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Onechanh Phonphiboun in 2005, her parents and two siblings.
