A Sad Death by Accident

The people of our community and of a large area north of here were shocked Tuesday evening to hear of the untimely death of little Myrtle Yoder, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Noah Yoder of Sharon township. She had been alone playing in the barn for nearly an hour, and during the time had leaned through an open doorway to a feed bin, the door of which consisted of boards sliding in grooves. One of these boards had become dislodged from above and fallen across her neck and had cruelly choked the life from her little body, before she was discovered. She was the only daughter of the family and as such the bereavement seems to be the greater. Such a sad and accidental death of a little child calls forth universal sorrow in the hearts of all and especially of parents with little ones in their own homes. Little Myrtle Mary Yoder was at the time of her death 6 years, 1 month, and 14 days of age. The funeral was held at 1 p.m. today at the United Evangelical church conducted by the pastor, Rev. Mullen. Interment in the cemetery near the church.
