Funeral Services Held On Tuesday For Mrs. M. Meer
Funeral services for Mrs. Mabel Meer were held Tuesday, April 24, 1962 at the Sharon E.U.B. church with the Rev. Howard Marty in charge. Burial was made in the Sharon E.U.B. cemetery. The Peterseim Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Meer died Sunday morning, April 22 in Mercy hospital, Iowa City. She had been ill for several days.
A memorial fund has been started in that community in memory of Mrs. Meer.
She was born July 13, 1885 in Johnson County a daughter of Isaac and Jennie Clark Weeber. On March 20, 1907, she was married to Fred J. Meer. He died a number of years ago.
Survivors include five sons, Ralph and Clarke, both of Iowa City, Robert, Waukesha, Wis., Roy, Kalona; Russell, Ft. Madison; three daughters: Mrs. Lloyd Grout, Waukesha, Wis.; Mrs. Jesse Grout, Riverside; Mrs. Roy Coy of St. Joseph, Mo.; two brothers: Walter Weeber, Iowa City and George Weeber, Goshen, Ind.; two sisters: Mrs. Carrie Wagner and Mrs. Anna Jones, both of Iowa City.
