Mary Kinney, 36, Of Oxford, Dies; Rites Wednesday

OXFORD - Mrs. Mary Katherine Kinney, 36, of Route 1, Oxford, died in Mercy Hospital at Iowa City at 1:20 p.m. Sunday. She had been ill for eight weeks.
Mrs. Kinney was born in Iowa City October 19, 1921, the daughter of Edward and Catherine O'Neill, of Morse. She was married to James M. (Jay) Kinney on August 10, 1946.
The couple had lived in the Oxford vicinity since that time. Before her marriage, Mrs. Kinney had taught in schools of Johnson and Iowa counties.
Survivors include her husband; two daugthers, Patricia Ann, 10, and Ellen Marie, two months; her mother; a sister, Mrs. Cecelia Stratton, of Kingsley, and four brothers, Patrict, of Waukee, John, of Solon, Vincent, of Davenport, and James of West Branch. Her father and two sisters preceded her in death.
Services will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. in St. Peter's church at Cosgrove with the Rev. Frank Kelley officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Hohenschuh mortuary in Iowa City.
