Jeffrey “Jeff” Allen Towne, 59, of Iowa City passed away Friday, May 4th at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 9th, at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City. There will be a greeting time prior to the service from 10-11:00am, also at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Iowa City. In lieu of flowers, Jeff’s family requests memorials be directed toward Reach For Your Potential.

Jeff was born on September 19th, 1958 in Iowa City and raised by his parents, Genevieve and Nick Lutgen. Jeff attended the Pine School and was active in the Special Olympics and Camp Courageous.

He enjoyed working at the Coral Ridge and Sycamore 12 movie theaters for almost 20 years and was an avid fan of Batman, Superman, WWE Wrestling and Star Trek, just to name a few.

Jeff loved spending time with his friends and family. He was very welcoming and may have greeted you with a giant hug. Jeff saw the best in people, had an upbeat personality and was very charismatic.

Jeff is survived by his loving guardian, Annette Megan; his special family Kim (Laura) Davis and Tom (Laurie) Kriz and all of his friends at Reach For Your Potential.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Genevieve and Nick Lutgen.
