OBITUARY

Charles Frederick Ressler, eldest son and seventh child of John Jacob and Fanny Ressler, was born August 9, 1868, and died at the old Ressler home on Sunday evening, April 21, 1929, aged 60 years, 8 months, and 12 days. Death was due to a paralytic stroke.
On Nov. 7, 1900, he was united in marriage with Mrs. May Walker Jackson, who preceded him in death on January 12, 1911. He is survived by his children: Rev. Paul Jackson, his step-son, Sibley, IA.; John Jacob Ressler, Washta; Mrs. Alice Winborn, Sharon Twp; Theodore Charles Ressler, Swisher; and Howard Lincoln Ressler, Iowa City, Iowa.
Mr. Ressler was one of a family of 13 children, three of whom, Mrs. Agnes Gramly, Mary F. and Rosetta V., and himself are deceased. The others are: Mrs. Anna Schwimley, Wellman, Mrs. Alice Hartman, Benton City, Wash., Mrs. Emma Hesselschwerdt, Kalona, Mrs. Sarah Alt, Sharon Twp., Laura E., Sharon Twp., Henry A., Sharon Twp., Edwin J., Otis Orchards, Wash., Mrs. Cora Smith, Park Rapids, Minn., and Arthur A., Sharon Twp.
Following the death of his wife, Mr. Ressler moved with his children to the home of Henry and Laura Ressler, which has since been his home.
He united in 1904 with the Sharon Evangelical Church, and has remained a faithful member. He was a kind father and loyal friend.
The funeral was held on Tuesday, at two o'clock, P.M., at Sharon Evangelical Church, Rev. R. E. Kerney officiating. Burial was at Sharon Center Cemetery.
