WEST BRANCH
J. Orville Hora, 70, a Johnson County farmer, died suddenly Thursday at his farm home.
Born Sept. 7, 1915, in Johnson County, he married Mabel Yoder on May 28, 1941. He farmed all of his life in Johnson County. He was a member of the West Branch United Methodist Church, the Wapsinonoc Masonic Lodge and Juanita Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, was former president of Cedar-Johnson County Farm Service.
Surviving are his wife; two sisters, Gladys Kasperek of Solon and Ariene Dayhoff of Cedar Rapids; and two brothers, A. Milver and Robert, both of West Branch.
Services: 1:30 p.m. Saturday, West Branch United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Samuel J. Hahn. There will be no visitation. The body was deeded to the anatomy department of the University of Iowa. A memorial fund has been established. Arrangements are by Barker's.
