Mrs. Henry Negus, wife of Mr. Henry Negus, Iowa City attorney and widely known in this community passed away at 10:30 o'clock Monday morning at her home, 701 East College street.

She had been ill for some time, having suffered a stroke of paralysis on January 27th.

Alice Hoppenstall was born at Springdale, Ia., January 11, 1861 and had been a resident of Iowa City since 1900. She was married to Mr. Negus on February 14, 1882.

Surviving are her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Mary N. Ravlin, of Minneapolis, Minn., and a son Joseph E. Negus of Ft. Madison, and a twin sister, Mrs. A. E. Haldeman of Malvern.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Hohenschuh mortuary. The services were conducted by the Rev. Evans A. Worthely, pastor of the First Unitarian church, assisted by Dr. Ira J. Houston, pastor of the Congregational church.
