Ellen Elizabeth Finn Rausch, 63 years old, passed away peacefully at her home in Coralville, IA on March 27, 2018. Ellen was born on October 29, 1954 in Iowa City, IA to the late Richard “Dick” and Doris “Jackie” Finn and was the oldest of three children. She was a graduate of West High School in Iowa City.
On July 17, 1983 Ellen became the proud mother of Michael Brandon Finn. She was united in marriage to her husband, Bruce Rausch on July 4, 2000. She openly welcomed stepsons Dave Rausch and Jon Rausch into her family.
Ellen worked very hard all of her life. She was a person for adventure, moving to various places and holding a variety of positions, making lifelong friends along the way. Ellen enjoyed reading, baking, flowers and music. She had a love of nature, especially in the mountains of Colorado. Most of all she loved spending time with the people she cared about the most, her family and close friends. Ellen was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, stepmother, mother-in-law, grandmother, aunt and friend to so many. She was a shining light and a beautiful person. She will truly be missed.
Ellen is preceded in death by her parents, Dick and Jackie Finn, and sister Amy Neustrom. She is survived by her Husband: Bruce Rausch, Son: Brandon (Meg) Finn, Stepsons: Dave (Iris) Rausch and Jon Rausch, Brother: John (Patty) Finn, Grandchildren: Collin and Elyse Finn, Nieces: Elizabeth (Jake) Moffitt, Sarah Neustrom, Laura (Sean) Wylie and Katherine Finn; Nephews: Michael Neustrom, Ben Neustrom, Andrew Finn and Melvin Finn; and Grand-nephews: Cameron Poggenpohl, Liam Poggenpohl and Greyson Dunham.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Ellen’s life will be held at 3:30 pm on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, 605 Kirkwood Avenue, Iowa City, with Reverend Dr. Sam Massey officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Iowa City Hospice.
