James Roy Buck II, who was born December 20, 1969, passed away suddenly, Sunday morning, April 15, 2018 at his home. He graduated from Iowa City West High school with the class of 1988 and attended Kirkwood College. He was the broker/owner of “The Firm” Real Property Services in Solon and also served the community as a volunteer for the Johnson County Foster Care Review Board. James was a faithful partner and dedicated father whose life revolved around his boys. He was caring, loving, well respected, and loved fast cars. He was an animal lover, had shown quarter horses and had a vibrant, infectious personality and was loved by all who knew him.

James is survived by his partner of 30 years, William Evanson; his sons, Gianni James Roy Buck and Luis William James Buck; brother, John Buck (Katie) and sister, Carolyn (Dennis) McLaughlin; sister-in-law: Rhea J. Evanson; mother-in-law, Rhea A. Evanson; nieces, Chelsey Hovden (Chris) and their children, Chase and Charlie Jo and Kelly Sarrazin; nephews, Tyler( Jamee) Buck, Hamish McLaughlin, Peter (Tara) Sarrazin and their sons Brenden and Preston.

James was preceded in death by his parents, James Roy Buck and Marie N. Buck, and father-in-law, Eugene Evanson.

Funeral services will be held 1 pm, Friday, April 20th at the Gay & Ciha Funeral Service in Iowa City where visitation will be from 4-8 pm Thursday. Condolences may be shared with his family at www.gayandciha.com.
