The death of Mrs. John W. Schell occurred early Wednesday morning, at the family home near Brick Chapel. She had been in failing health, but was serious ill only a short time.

Mrs. Schell was a lifelong resident of the Fairview and Brick Chapel communities, and her interests were ever with her family and the neighborhood life. Especially was she attached to the Brick Chapel and its associations. Among the early members of the church, Mr. and Mrs. Schell were actively and intimately concerned in its welfare. When the old church celebrated its diamond anniversary in 1931, the Schell family came home from the east and west coasts and the scattered homes between, for a reunion at the loved meeting grounds.

In the last few years, since services have been discontinued at Brick Chapel, Mr. and Mrs. Schell found a church home at West Branch, attending the Methodist church here. She will be missed in the various groups of this organization.

Mrs. Schell was the daughter of John H. and Henrietta Griffith Stevenson of Scott township, and she was born Nov. 29, 1859. Her death occurred April 3, 1934, at the age of 71 years. Funeral services will be held at the family home six miles west of West Branch at 2:00 o'clock Friday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. H. M. Grant, with burial in the Brick Chapel cemetery nearby.
