Helen Ebert, 78

Helen Irene Ebert, 78, of 3357 Rohret Road SW, died Tuesday Aug. 8, 2000, at Mercy Hospital after a long illness.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Sharon Center United Methodist Church with the Rev. Doug Cue officiating. Her body was donated to the University of Iowa Anatomy Department.
There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to the Visiting Nurses Association. The George L. Gay Funeral Home and Crematorium is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Ebert was born Aug. 11, 1921, in Eagle Grove, to Robert Dudley and Clara Elise (Fugate) Sublett. She graduated from Boone High School in 1939 and Iowa State Teachers College in 1943. She married Marion Ebert on June 17, 1951, in Boone.
She was a member of the Sharon Center United Methodist Church, Kappa Phi, Iowa Mountaineers, a volunteer at University Hospitals, and a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Mark Ebert of Kilbourne and Karl Ebert of Tiffin; a daughter, Mary Ann Ebert of Iowa City; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Two brothers, Robert and Cecil Sublett, died earlier.
