Ida Niffenegger, 98

Ida Niffenegger, 98, of 701 Oaknoll Drive, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 1997, at Oaknoll Retirement Residence of a long illness.
Graveside services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sharon Center Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Barrick officiating.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at George L. Gay Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
Mrs. Niffenegger was born March 25, 1898, in Sharon Township, Johnson County, to Fred and Erma (Berkley) Grundbacher. She married Roscoe Niffenegger on Dec. 16, 1920, in Sharon Center. They farmed near Sharon Center for many years before moving to Iowa City.
She was a member of United Methodist Women, East Lucas Women's Club, and the Iowa City Women's Club.
Survivors include one daughter and her husband, June and Russell Winborn of Iowa City; one son and his wife, Roscoe "Ross" and Frances Niffenegger of Suisun, Calif.; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Her husband, one brother and two sisters died earlier.
