Gertrude May Easter, wife of Lloyd Easter, aged 27 years, died at 8:30 this morning at their home in the Pleasant Hill neighborhood, southeast of town.
She had been ill for only a few days, contracting pneumonia last Monday. Mrs. Easter was a member of the Pleasant Hill Christian church and a young woman of fine Christian qualities, devoted to her home and family.
Mrs. Easter was born in Washington county October 16, 1892, and was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Knight Wagner. She was married June 26, 1912 , to Lloyd Easter and their home has been ever since in the Pleasant Hill community. The husband and daughter, Arlene, survive, and also three brothers, Fred, Howard, and Lester, all of the Eureka community, and two sisters, Mrs. C. W. Stewart of West Chester and Mrs. Roy Davison of near Coppock.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday afternoon at two o’clock at the late home and will be private. Rev. B. W. Pettit of Albia is expected to conduct the services. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery.
