Mrs. Strickler

WELLMAN - Mrs. Bertha A. Strickler, 87, formerly of Iowa City, died at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City Saturday night following an extended illness.
Services were today in the Sharon Center United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Robert Hesty officiating. Burial was in the Sharon United Methodist Cemetery. Peterseim Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Strickler was born March 20, 1883, in Johnson County, daughter of Gottlieb and Albertine Siegling Kesselring. She was married to Henry W. Strickler in 1901. After being employed by Paris Cleaners she operated a nursing home, both in Iowa City. She was a lifetime member of the Sharon Center United Methodist Church and a 50-year member of the Corona Chapter 297 of the Order of Eastern Star. Memorial contributions can be made to either.
Surviving are two sons, Lloyd of Kalona and Raymond of Sigourney; two grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband, two sons and 13 brothers and sisters.
