SARAH MARNER PASSES TODAY

Miss Sarah Marner passed away this morning at 1:30 o'clock after a brief illness, a recurrent attack enforcing a hurried trip to the hospital where the finest of medical skill was baffled.
The funeral will be held from her late home at Manville Heights, tomorrow afternoon, at 3 o'clock. Rev. Robert R. Reed will officiate. Interment will be in the cemetery near the Sharon Evangelical Church.
Miss Marner was born in Pennsylvania, and was in her sixty-second year.
Surviving are her sisters, with whom she resided - the Misses Susie and Malinda Marner.
Friends of the estimable lady and their number was large will be shocked and grieved beyond words to learn of her unexpected death. To the bereaved sister they will tender true sympathy.

Miss Sarah Marner Is Laid To Rest

Miss Sarah Marner was laid to rest in the cemetery of the Evangelical Church of Sharon Center, not far from her old home. She sleeps beside her parents. The funeral including exercises at her late home in Manville Heights, and a brief service at the grave, was held Wednesday, July 23rd. Rev. Robert R. Reed of the Presbyterian church, of whcih she was a valued member, was in charge.
Miss Marner was born in Johnstown, Penn., April 18, 1863, and died in Iowa City July 21, 1924.
Surviving are her three brothers and three sisters, all of whom were present at the last sad rites. Dr. G.P. Marner, Marion, Kansas; Mr. J.J. Marner, Iowa City; and Mr. Jonathan G. Marner, of Denver, Colo.; formerly a Johnson County official.
