Vivian Jacobs, 76. of Iowa City, died Sunday, March 25, 2018 at her home.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:30 pm at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City. Funeral services will begin Thursday at 10:00 am at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice.
Born November 23, 1941 in Iowa City, the daughter of Selz and Lorraine (McAreavy) McGuire, she grew up in Iowa City and attended Iowa City High, graduating in 1959. Vivian married Keith Jacobs on September 2, 1960 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Iowa City. Welcoming her kids, Patrick (1963), Amy (1964) and Lisa (1966). Vivian spent the majority of her working days in the office at Beverly / Greenwood Manor. Her proudest accomplishment was founding and becoming a board member of the Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity. Vivian was a long- standing parishioner of St. Thomas More, where she was an RCIA Sponsor and eucharistic minister.

Vivian is survived by her husband Keith; son, Pat Jacobs (Eileen) of Chicago and their children, Ryan Jacobs and Teagan Jacobs, daughters, Amy Jacobs of Canoga Park, California and Lisa Kozicki of South Haven, Michigan and a brother Loras “Mac” McGuire of Santa Teresa, New Mexico.

She was preceded in death by parents.
