Rose A. McMenomy, 83, of Tiffin, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2018 at The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM, Monday April 9th at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Father Gary Beckman officiating. Burial will be at 1 PM, Monday April 9th at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Williamsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rose McMenomy Memorial Fund c/o Hills Bank and Trust.

Rose was born on April 7, 1934 in Waterloo, IA, the daughter of Earl and Maudy (Pettit) Clements. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School and Kirkwood Community College. Rose was united in marriage to Dwane McMenomy on February 27, 1954 in Iowa City; he preceded her in death on June 1, 2017. She worked in research for the University of Iowa Oakdale Campus. Rose and Dwane built their house together; she designed the house herself. Dwane was left handed and Rose was right handed; they started at opposite ends and met in the middle. Rose enjoyed antiquing, listening to live music, especially Irish music. She was a great mom and will be missed.

Rose is survived by her daughter, Opal; nephews, Bobby Guyer and David Harriman, the sons she never had; and many extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dwane; siblings, Jess, Gene, Charles, Ronald, Donald, Evelyn, Opal and Ruby.
