Gloria Lee Mathwig, age 51 of rural Kalona, died Friday, July 28, 1995 at her home in Joetown of cancer.
She was born February 2, 1944 in Tracy, Minnesota the daughter of Donald R. A. and Ruby R. Habben Mathwig. She graduated from Climbing Hill High School at Climbing Hill, Iowa. She graduated from Wayne State College of Wayne, Nebraska in 1966 with a degree in Chemistry. Gloria was united in marriage to Lyle D. Hubbard on July 22, 1966 in Sioux City, Iowa. After their marriage they moved to Canby, Oregon. Gloria attended Portland State University in Portland, Oregon and Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon. She became a Certified Public Accountant in 1979, owning her own CPA business until retiring in 1992. They move to Joetown, Iowa in August 1992. Gloria was enrolled as a graduate student in religion at the University of Iowa.
Gloria attends the Sharon Center United Methodist Church. She loves music and has been active in organ, piano and vocal music. She was a public speaker for the Oregon Association of CPA's and has served as lay minister.
Surviving are her hasband Lyle Hubbard; two sons-Dwight Lee and wife Sumiko Hubbard of Cedar Rapids, Iowa - Duane Lee Hubbard of Joetown, Iowa; two daughters-Monica Lyn Hubbard of Oregon City, Oregon and Marian Lyn Hubbard of Portland, Oregon; her mother Ruby Mathwig of Oto., Iowa and a sister Cheryl A. Mead of Denison, Iowa.
Gloria was preceded in death by her father and two sisters - Diane and Lois Ann.
