Harold Arthur Ressler was born near Sharon Center, Iowa the son of Arthur and Kate (Lackender) Ressler. He was raised in the community and attended rural schools and graduated from Sharon Center High School in 1938.
He was married to Irene Moore at the Little Bit of Heaven, in Davenport, Iowa, on December 31, 1929. The couple farmed in the Sharon Center area until failing health caused them to move to Pleasantview Home. Harold had been a resident for 9 years. He was a member of the Sharon Center United Methodist Church.
Harold is survived by three children and their spouses, Eugene and Charlotte, Ribon, CA., Harold Kay and Gloria, Placentia, CA., Gail and Jerry Berggren, Norwich, Vermont. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one brother, Dale Ressler, Iowa City, and one sister, Mildred Sindt, Spirit Lake, Iowa.
Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Irene, on February 11, 1992.
A memorial fund for the Sharon Center United Methodist Church and Pleasantview Home has been established.
The family extends their gratitude to friends and family for the many acts of kindness given to them during this time of Harold's death.
